01 · What is UN R89?
UN Regulation No. 89 establishes requirements for speed limitation systems and related vehicle approvals. The relevant certificate identifies its approved scope and equipment.
02 · What does E-Mark E57 mean?
E57 identifies the contracting party that granted the type approval. For the displayed R10 approval, the applicable technical subject is automotive electromagnetic compatibility.
03 · Is MIROS 5-Star the same as JPJ retrofit authorization?
No. A MIROS safety evaluation or rating and an authorization relating to SLD retrofit work are different forms of recognition. Their respective documents should be checked separately.
04 · Does every commercial vehicle need the same SLD?
No. Product selection depends on vehicle configuration, compatibility and applicable regulatory requirements. A technical assessment is recommended.
05 · Are APAD, LPKP and MPOB product certifications?
Not necessarily. They are Malaysian regulatory bodies associated with particular transport or industry activities. GPS compliance requirements and product certification should be evaluated separately.
